KING JAMES BIBLE VS. MODERN VERSIONS

COMPARING THE SCRIPTURE

All Bibles are based on manuscripts that originate either in Antioch, Syria (Byzantine or Majority Text) or in Alexandria, Egypt (Alexandrian or Minority Text). There are 5,700+ manuscripts that originate in Antioch and only 50 or so that originate in Alexandria. The Antioch manuscripts are in 99% agreement, whereas the Alexandrian manuscripts agree roughly 70% of the time, which is a massive 30% disagreement.

Further, if we are to be true disciples of Jesus Christ we must be sure that we’re armed with God’s true word (Ephesians 6:17). In other words, we need to be sure we have every word, as Jesus tells us that “man does not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.” (Matthew 4:4)
