Satan makes his first appearance in the third chapter of the Bible (Genesis 3:1) when he tempts Eve with the words: “Yea, hath God said …” His final appearance is, fittingly, in the antepenultimate, or third from last, chapter (Revelation 20:10) where he is cast into the lake of fire to be tormented for eternity.
