This is a good follow-on from my previous verse image about false prophets as many of those who become such do so in service to the flesh: the love of money, which is the root of all evil (1 Timothy 6:10), status in society (Matthew 23:5-7) and the praise they receive from men (John 12:43). We must strive to walk in the Spirit (Galatians 5:16), not desiring glory or envying one another (Galatians 5:26). And if we walk in the Spirit we will not only reap the fruit of the Spirit — love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance (Galatians 5:22-23) — we will also reap life everlasting (Galatians 6:8).
Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. (Galatians 6:7-8)
